The Challenge
- India is the second most populous country in the world with a population of more than 1.35 billion in 2018.
- India also has the largest illiterate population in the world.
- Families in India are undergoing crisis: Because of domestic abuse, dowry deaths and suicides are very common. Divorce is on the rise. Superstition and illiteracy complicates the situation. Proper understanding of family life is lacking.
The Call to Serve Families
In 1995 we were inspired to start a service to build, strengthen and enrich families all over India. Ark Family Ministries is committed to building strong, and healhty families. Good families will pass on their heritage to the next generation.
Our Initiatives
Family Seminars and Marriage Enrichment Cells
Through these seminars and monthly enrichment cells, as they learn and study, families are enriched and challenged to build loving families. This also keeps HIV away. Children are reasied with good ethics.
Pastors and Leaders Family Seminars
As there is no meaningful training available in this area of family life, Community leaders are given family life training in 1-day, 2-day , and 3-day seminars. This enables them to counsel and help others in their communities.
Parenting Seminars
We conduct parenting seminars to train parents in the basics of sound parenting skills. This helps them raise children to adulthood who will be a great asset to their own families and to the society at large.
Seminars on Love, Sex, Purity and Marriage for Youth
We conduct 1-day and 2-day seminars to help disciple the youth and encourage them to live pure lives as they gain a proper understanding of love, sex, purity and marriage. This also keeps them from unhealthy sexual habits, and from HIV & other sexually transmitted diseases.
Family Life And Marriage Enrichment Institute (FLAME Institute)
Several leader couples after being exposed to some of our teaching, expressed a desire to receive in-depth training with the aim that as they receive these family life principles, they in turn can strengthen many families in their communities and organisations. During these six day institutes, twenty two subjects related to family life are taught. Most of them are unable to give more time, thus these six days are very intensive, filled with many interactive sessions. Many leaders have testified that this has greatly enriched and equipped them.
After attending FLAME Institute, my wife and I are growing growing in our marriage relationship. Now we are understanding each other’s weaknesses much better, and learning to care for one another. All the study notes have become very useful in teaching other couples.
