Children’s Devotional Book
Through our years of teaching and travel in ministering to children, we developed an increasing burden for the lack of teaching and resources in the Indian Church on Christian family life. With the rapid changes in the Indian society, we saw this as a great need of our times.
The devotional book, “Keys for Kids” (originally published by Children’s Bible Hour, USA) is a useful tool for personal quiet time for children ages 8 and above. It is a story based devotional geared for ages 8–14 but even those who are older or younger will enjoy and learn from them. It includes daily Scripture reading, suggested verse to memorize and a daily key to summarize the lesson. It can also be used for family worship. It helps make family devotions meaningful and interesting for children.
We found Keys for Kids book to be excellent resource in equipping parents as well as Sunday school teachers. This is a story-based devotional which explains great Christian truths in a way that children can understand. This is also a tool that can be used for evangelism and follow-up programs. It can be used by Christian parents as a tool to disciple their own children.
Since the need for these materials is great and there is such shortage of children’s materials in the vernacular, we have a burden to prepare “Keys for Kids” books in India’s 16 officially recognized languages. We are convinced that this tool is an excellent investment for the strengthening of spiritual leadership within Christian homes and churches in India. This will ultimately build the next generation of strong Christian leaders.
We believe that with the seed money from the initial publications, the sales of the book can make the project self-sustaining. We would like to regularize this book to make available 6 books per year, ultimately building a cycle of 8 years.
